Last week we talked about the importance of persistent prayer. Prayer that doesn’t give up. Prayer that keeps bringing the request to God until either He answers, or he tells us to stop praying. Have you ever given up too soon? Maybe you were trying to learn to play the piano or guitar. You worked on it for a few months but gave up. Maybe you tried to learn a new skill, lose weight, or get in shape, but for whatever reason, you gave up before you saw the results.
Persistence is about staying on a course of action in spite of difficulties or opposition. God calls us to be a people of persistent prayer. (more…)
Why do we end our prayers with the phrase “in Jesus name?” Is it just a closing tag like, “sincerely yours?” Is it a way to let people know that you’re about to end your prayer? Is it a magical phase that ensures God will answer our prayers?
Praying in Jesus name is not just a tagline and not a magic phrase, it’s the basis of our ability and right to come into God’s presence with our request.
